Need to confirm the flow rate of liquids through pipes in you water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant or your processing plant? Cooper Controls, Inc. can perform a non-intrusive flow test using a portable ultrasonic or Doppler clamp-on flow meter. Cooper Controls, Inc. uses clamp-on flow meters that utilize the latest technology.  

The “transit time” flow meter sends out an ultrasonic pulse through the liquid in the pipe and measures the amount of time it takes to send and receive the ultrasonic pulse. Similar to a swimmer swimming against the current, an ultrasonic signal moves slower against the flow direction of the medium than when in the flow direction. 

A Doppler flow meter sends out an ultrasonic signal which detects the movement of solids through the pipe and then calculates flow. Clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement has long been established as a practical and reliable measurement method. The meters can be used every where pipe walls and the fluid flowing in the pipe are acoustically transmissive.
